Assistant Minister (Full-time)

The person we seek will be looking for the challenge of developing and implementing a Bible-based vision to grow the Small Group and Family Ministry at St Matthews Church. You are an energetic person with gifts in leadership, training and pastoring who has a passion for discipleship with adults and families. Anglican ordination is preferable but not essential along with a minimum of 3 years experience in parish-based ministry.

Pastoral Care Minister (4 days)

This person will be developing and overseeing the pastoral and caring ministries of the church, along with running our 8am service. We are looking for an experienced ordained Anglican minister to fill this role. You will have a passion for pastoral ministries along with gifts in pastoring, training and leadership.

Grace Chinese Christian Church—Sutherland is an independent church in Sutherland, NSW. The English Language Congregation has about 50 people comprising mainly young adults and youths from predominantly Chinese backgrounds and also other nationalities.   • be able to work with a leadership team to develop strategies to lead the congregation
  • be sensitive to the different cultural backgrounds of our church, its members, its leaders and the community around us
  • have the passion to work with youths and be able to provide leadership training for them
  • have the passion to work with youths and young adults to assist them to develop a solid biblical foundation, and be able to provide mentoring and leadership training for them
  • be a graduate of a recognised theological institution, committed to Bible-centred faith, preaching and teaching.

Chaplain

Castle Hill Villages

Anglican Retirement Villages, Diocese of Sydney has been committed to ‘Creating Communities of Christian Care’ for more than 50 years. Our chaplaincy team at Castle Hill includes four ordained full-time chaplains—two women and two men—and five part-time assistant chaplains and chaplaincy volunteers.

A position now exists for a chaplain to pastor to and oversee ministry primarily to female residents and staff members at ARV. This person would be ordained or willing and able to be ordained and licensed by the Archbishop of Sydney, and will have proven experience and skills in preaching, pastoral care and evangelism while interacting with residents and staff as a member of a cohesive pastoral care team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • living and promoting the Vision, Mission and Values of ARV
  • conducting church services—including Morning Prayer and Holy Communion—and preaching on Sundays, weekdays and at special events
  • facilitating Bible study groups, fellowship and missionary groups
  • providing appropriate pastoral care to residents, and to the staff who care for them
  • supporting and encouraging our Chaplaincy visitor volunteers
  • working alongside and supporting village managers and staff
  • assisting relatives in the organising and conducting of funeral services
  • preparing newsletters, prayer notes and other media.
