The Daily Reading Bible (Volume 14)--cover

The Daily Reading Bible (Volume 14)

The all-in-one, take-anywhere package to help you feed regularly from God's word.

This popular devotional series is becoming the staple diet for many Christians' time with God. The Daily Reading Bible is an all-in-one resource, and a good way to get started or keep going in your daily reading of the Bible.

This 14th volume contains 60 undated readings looking at Luke 7-9, Micah and Galatians. Each reading is designed to take around 15-20 minutes, and contains:

  • the full text of the Bible passage for that reading;
  • some questions to get you thinking;
  • some ‘points to ponder’; and
  • some ideas to get you started in prayer.

It's all here in one booklet that you can take with you anywhere—on the train, on the bus, to the park at lunchtime, or to your favourite armchair.

AUS $7.50 | $6.00 for 5+
USA $5.50 | $4.99 for 5+

When we sent our last enews, US Customs had delayed delivery to our US office of some new resources. We're glad to say these have been cleared and delivered, and are now in stock in the USA, UK and Australia:

The Future of Jesus--cover

The Future of Jesus

Dr Peter Jensen, former Principal of Moore Theological College and currently the leader of the Anglican Church in Sydney, asks some intriguing questions about the future of Jesus and our society: who was Jesus? Can we believe in his miracles? If Jesus announced the coming of the Kingdom of God, why are we still waiting? Was he a failed prophet or a religious genius? And does it matter?

The intelligent and thought-provoking answers Peter Jensen provides in this book will challenge non-Christian readers to look again at the person of Jesus, and will greatly strengthen the confidence and faith of those who already love and serve Christ.

Thinking about Ministry

Nothing In My Hand I Bring--cover

This month, our hometown of Sydney is hosting the Roman Catholic Church's ‘World Youth Day’. They say it will be bigger than the Olympics we hosted in 2000. So Roman Catholicism is going to very much be the talking point in our city, and quite possibly in plenty of other places as well.

So we're pleased to bring you a fascinating interview with Ray Galea. Ray is an interesting guy: he's pastor of the Multicultural Bible Ministry, he's a gifted Bible teacher, and he came from a strongly Roman Catholic family background. He is also the author of Nothing In My Hand I Bring. In this interview with Peter Hastie, he provides some fascinating insights into Roman Catholisicm. Here's an excerpt:

Peter Hastie: If the Pope receives a copy of your book, Nothing in My Hand I Bring, and asks you over for a cup of tea, what will you do?

Ray Galea: I'll go. I will talk to him about the claims of Jesus. Interestingly, he was behind the Catholic Catechism that was released in 1994, so he is as conservative as the previous Pope. Anyone who thinks that the Catholic Church is really changing its core teachings is a million miles away from reality. At the time, Benedict was nicknamed the ‘theological watchdog’. He is clearly concerned, like Pope John Paul II, about liberalism gaining the upper hand within Catholicism.

Gospel growth focus

The gospel growth process

Matthias Media develops ministry resources designed to promote and fuel what we call the ‘gospel growth process’. You can learn more about this at our website: AUS | USA. In this section of enews, we highlight one category and refer you to some of our resources available to help in this area. This month, it's ‘growth’.

In our ‘growth’ category, we have a series called ‘Insight Multimedia Studies’. These small group Bible studies tackle important topics using a combination of Bible investigation, group discussion and video input. A typical session might look something like this:

Where to, Lord?--cover

Where to, Lord? Six studies on guidance

SEE THIS MONTH'S SPECIAL OFFER BELOW

Guidance can be one of the most frustrating issues for Christians. We know that Jesus has died and that heaven lies in the future, but we still remain unsure about everything in between. We have many questions about guidance—such as, “Am I missing out on God's personal guidance?”, “How does God guide his people today?”, “If God speaks, will I hear his voice?” and “How do I know God's will for my life?”.

You will need a copy of the Where to Lord? booklet for each person in the group, plus a copy of the accompanying DVD. You can download the booklet's table of contents, introduction and first chapter free.

Pricing: See this month's special offer below.

From Sinner to Saint: Five studies on holiness--cover

From Sinner to Saint: Five studies on holiness

God has a plan: he is transforming every Christian from sinner to saint. That is, God's plan is to make Christians holy, just as he is holy.

Over these five studies, you will explore what holiness is, how it is possible and how God is going to bring it about in your life. You will be challenged to persevere on the path to holiness and warned of the distractions you may encounter along the way. Finally, you'll be encouraged by the grandeur of God's plan for you in his new creation.

You will need a booklet for each person in the group, plus a copy of the accompanying DVD. You can download the booklet table of contents, introduction and sample chapter free.
