Our resources

As we have said elsewhere, our aim is to produce resources for growing Christians—resources which help move people along the ‘gospel growth process’:

The Gospel Growth Process

We make contact with non-Christians, raise Christian issues with them, and seek opportunities to proclaim the gospel to them.
Once people respond to the gospel message and put their faith in Christ, initial follow-up is needed to establish them in the faith, and teach them the basics.
Then follows the life-long process of growing in Christian knowledge and conviction, and in the godly character that flows from it.

This growth happens through feeding on the Scriptures.

Godliness is also about serving others: reaching out to them, following them up, and helping them grow. We gain the motivation and maturity to serve others, and we need training in how to do this.

Within each of those major categories (outreach, follow-up, growth and training), it is also helpful to provide some sub-categories. Here's a bit of an explanation of each:

Outreach

Raising issues

Very often, the first step in reaching someone with the gospel will not be the gospel at all. It will be an issue or topic that relates to God or Christianity or spiritual questions, and which eventually opens a door for explaining the gospel. It might be a classic apologetic issue like “Where is God in the midst of suffering?” or a topical subject like The Da Vinci Code. We have a number of books for just this purpose. They are for giving away to non-Christian friends and family as a way of raising spiritual issues.

Evangelistic planning

Once a year or so it is worth stopping to take stock: what are we doing to reach the world with the gospel? Are we in ‘mission’ mode, or just ‘maintenance’ mode? If the latter, how can we plan and act to do better? We have a resource to help with this planning process.

Evangelistic programs

Resources that can help you offer a regular program for unbelievers designed to help them understand Christianity, for example, an evangelistic course written to take unbelievers through the Gospel of Luke and introduce them to Jesus.

Evangelistic tracts and Bible studies

We also have a range of tracts and other inexpensive items which are ideal for giving away to non-Christians to share the gospel with them. Plus, there are a number of straightforward evangelistic Bible studies which you can use to sit down and read the Bible one-to-one with someone.

Evangelistic books

We publish a number of Christian books designed to explain the Christian faith simply, and argue for its cogency.

Christmas evangelism

Christmas is an ideal time of year for evangelism. We have a growing range of evangelistic resources which are specially written for this time of year, such as tracts for handing out at carol services.

Follow-up

There are a number of resources which are ideal in establishing new believers in the faith, and teaching them the basics.

Growth

Personal Bible reading

The Daily Reading Bible series is designed to help all Christians to interact with God and his word regularly.

One-to-one Bible reading

Read the Bible with another person, and encourage each other.

Small group Bible studies

Small home groups are at the core of church-based nurture. We have a growing number of high-quality resources to provide nutritious spiritual food for such groups.

Children's curriculum

Teaching the younger members of the Christian family is critical. We have a 6-year syllabus on CD-ROM.

Guidebooks for Life

The Guidebooks for Life series is becoming a basic library for every Christian, covering all the important topics and issues of the Christian life in an accessible, straightforward way.

Other Christian living books

As well as the Guidebooks for Life, we have a number of other books tackling a variety of Christian issues.

Books to stretch the Christian mind

Then there are the books which stretch you to think just a little more deeply and biblically about yourself, God and the world.

Audio packages

We also have some excellent talks on various topics and Bible passages from some of the finest Bible teachers around.

Training

Training for everyone

General training programs for all Christians to help mobilize them and equip them for the tasks of outreach, follow-up, encouragement and training.

Specialized training

Resources for training those who lead children's and youth programs, and small home study groups. Plus specialist resources for pastors and preachers.
