Guidance on DVD
Many people know about our most popular book, Guidance and the Voice of God. But many may not know about the small group DVD-course based on the book called Where to, Lord?. The DVD and booklet provide an interactive approach to learning how God guides his people.
Where to, Lord? is an ideal course to use for college students home on summer break. Yet it isn't only the young who benefit from a biblical perspective on guidance and decision-making; one pastor commented to me that his seniors group (ages 60+) found the course quite encouraging as it caused them to re-think the truly important issues of life and how to best use their retirement years.
Pastors would benefit from having their leaders work through the course as a group. There are few more important issues for leaders to be unified on than the issue of how God is guiding them to guide the church. Other uses of the course include: premarital counseling, a summer training class for recent high school graduates, and a lunch-hour Bible study for business men and women.
The course is quite easy to run, with everything needed contained in the DVD and booklet. Ideally, it's done in six one-hour sessions so that all the participants have time to think through the passages and questions being raised each week. However, sessions could be combined so that you could run the course in a weekend or over two to three Saturday mornings.
